This half term in PE Class 2 have been refining their tennis skills with Rob. Working in partners and small groups they have been practicing the different serves and receiving the ball, working up to actual games.

We had a fantastic time this afternoon competing in a range of sporting events for this years sports day. First we took part in a variety of mini games followed by long and short distance running events. Well done to all teams!
We had a fantastic time on our residential to The Ultimate Adventure Centre. We arrived safely and settled in before our first activity. Our first activity was the ultimate assault course. We were visited by the fire service to teach us about fire. The firefighter helped us to set fire to our own ‘Pudding Lane’ that we created in the morning. We learned how fast the fire spread. Thank you to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service for a hands-on day of learning.
Having learnt that the Great Fire of London started in a bakery, we made our own bread roll. We followed a recipe, measured our ingredients and kneaded the bread with the palms of our hands. How delicious the bread tasted!
In design technology this week we made chocolate truffles. We used our measuring skills to weigh out the ingredients and we learnt how chocolate changes state when it is heated and cooled through observation.
We tasted a range of different chocolate, including milk, white, dark and orange.
